Frequently asked questions

When is the personal tax deadline in Canada?

April 30 for most filers. Self-employed individuals have until June 15 to file, but any tax owing is still due April 30.

What happens if I file late?

The CRA charges a late-filing penalty plus interest on any balance owing, so file on time even if you can’t pay in full.
